On Sunday’s episode of This Week in Missouri Politics, John Brunner takes the stage as the show continues the series focusing on gubernatorial candidates. Brunner said on the campaign trail, the overwhelming concern Missourians hold is jobs and the economy.
Brunner responds to the attack ad which started airing this week, calling for committee transparency. He continues his theme of transparency in addressing the University of Missouri, which is being sued over their handling of a Sunshine Law request. Brunner discusses his campaign and Donald Trump with host Scott Faughn, saying he hopes Trump comes to Missouri to support him in his bid – a message repeated from this past week’s televised debate.
The opinion maker panel is made up of longtime Democrat Martin Casas, Democratic fundraiser Angela Bingaman, political consultant David Barklage, and Jefferson County First County Executive Ken Waller. Barklage continues Brunner’s message regarding the outside ads, saying Brunner “must be doing something right” to warrant the attacks. Bingaman and Casas discuss the strengths and weaknesses of Brunner and Waller discusses his longtime support of the candidate.
TWMP will air at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Louis area on ABC 30 KDNL and in mid-Missouri on KRCG at 6:00 a.m.
