Rep. Diehl was appointed by Governor Matt Blunt as the Chairman of the St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners in 2005, a position he held until 2008. From 2003-2005, he served as an Alderman for the city of Town and Country. Rep. Diehl was also named the 2006 Business Person of the Year by the Town and Country / Frontenac Chamber of Commerce.

Diehl is, or has been, a member of the following organizations: Town and Country/Frontenac Chamber of Commerce, Executive Committee 2004-2007; Town and Country Police Commission, chairman; Chairman of Town and Country Conservation Commission; Town and Country Architectural Review Board; chairman, Town and Country Longview House Renovation Committee; Governor’s Advisory Council on DWI; Town and Country ombudsman to the West County EMS and Fire Protection District; Missouri Bar; St. Louis County Bar Association; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers Election Center
A 1983 graduate of De Smet Jesuit High School, Rep. Diehl received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1987 and received his Juris Doctorate in 1991 from St. Louis University.
Born August 28, 1965 in St. Louis, Rep. Diehl is a lifelong resident of West St. Louis County. He currently resides in Town and Country with his wife, and their three sons.
